You've got to be able to bend… your ankles, knees, and hips!

Hold your back upright, with proper posture.
Hold your back straight, with proper poster, while sitting.
Sit, with a straight back, and lean forward 20 degrees, and then lean back 10 degrees!
Rowing also uses the arms, you'll need to move your shoulders, elbows, and wrists in a rowing motion. You can try this out on an erg or doing the "rowing" lift, with a light weight bar.
